"In March 2019, I started working at MS Schippers as an Account Manager for the Cattle Division. Before this, I studied at the Hotel School in Bruges and then completed the Bachelor International Business and Languages in Tilburg.
Continue to optimize companies in the field of animal health. As account manager, I maintain the relationship with cattle farmers in the north of the Netherlands. This is often by phone, but I also visit the farmer. I find it interesting to be able to visit the farmer's company. It also improves the relationship between customer and farmer."
"I enjoy working within this industry because everyone is so down to earth and tells it like it is.
Before I started working at Schippers, I had no experience with the industry. I learned a lot by reading theory. Besides that, I went along with the field colleagues where I listened a lot and could ask questions to colleagues and farmers. I also visited a number of farmers myself.
By just doing it, I learned the most. My studies also fit within my work. At the Hotel School I learned how to deal with people and how to be customer-friendly. During my study of International Business and Languages, I learned the business side of the profession, such as sales and marketing.
Within the sector of Schippers, many men are employed. I do not always notice this. I get along well with male colleagues and can hold my own among the men. It would be nice if a female colleague would join the team.
At Schippers, a staff association has been established, namely the PigBrothers. The PigBrothers organize staff parties. "I'm in the organization and help think of and arrange events. I like the fact that I can contribute something to the organization in a different way than my daily work."
For now, Rosa is still comfortable in her place within the organization. Eventually, she wants to grow into a more international position within Schippers. Because Schippers works all over the world, that should be possible!
