At The Schippers Group, we work on improving animal health through optimal hygiene. We have offices and teams all over the world—including key European markets like the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, France, and Italy—and we are well known in the Romanian market. To become the major player in Romania, we need a down-to-earth Country Manager who has serious experience in the livestock sector, knows how to run a business, and is ready to build our Romanian branch with our local partners.
What are you going to do?
As our Country Director, you are responsible for the further growth of Schippers in Romania. In this start-up phase, your main priority is to get out into the field, meet large farmers, and secure our partnerships. As the business grows, you will build and lead your own local team.
- Market Development: Develop a realistic market plan and actively visit farms and integrations to introduce MS Schippers and HyCare.
- Sales & Partnerships: Secure commercial deals with major pig (and poultry) integrations and large-scale livestock farms.
- Build the Team: Recruit, train, and manage your own local sales and support team as the business expands.
- Operations & Logistics: Set up the local logistics, warehousing, and operational processes in coordination with our Dutch headquarters.
- P&L Responsibility: Take full financial responsibility for the Romanian entity, managing the budget, sales targets, and local costs.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced professional who has already earned their stripes in management within the agricultural sector. We are not looking for corporate managers who prefer office desks over farms. We need someone with proven commercial and leadership experience.
- Sector experience: You have a solid network and deep knowledge of the Romanian intensive livestock industry. Experience in pig farming is highly preferred; poultry is a strong second.
- Proven leadership: You have substantial experience in a commercial management position with proven P&L responsibility.
- Hands-on mentality: You fit a family-business culture. You are self-motivated, pragmatic, and do not mind getting your boots dirty when visiting a farm.
- Language: Fluent in written and spoken English. Professional command of the Romanian language is highly preferred.
