Monogastric Veterinarian – Welfare & Hygiene Specialist
- Advice & Sales
- Full-time
- Ontario, Canada
You're helping build the future of preventative animal health for the Canadian hog and poultry industries.
At MS Schippers, our mission is clear: to create a world without Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). We believe that effective hygiene and biosecurity are the foundation of healthy livestock, improved animal welfare, and sustainable production.
We are looking for a passionate veterinarian who believes that preventing disease is better than treating it. As our Monogastric Veterinarian – Welfare & Hygiene Specialist, you will partner with leading swine and poultry producers across Ontario to develop practical hygiene and biosecurity strategies that improve animal health, support producer goals, and reduce disease risk.
This is more than a veterinary advisory role. You’ll become a trusted partner to key producers, helping them implement preventative health solutions through the MS Schippers HyCare® concept and our innovative hygiene portfolio.
What are you going to do?
Your mission is to improve livestock health through preventative hygiene and biosecurity while building long-term partnerships with Canada’s leading monogastric producers.
Partner with Key Accounts
Build trusted relationships with swine and poultry producers, veterinarians, and production teams to understand their operations, challenges, and long-term objectives.
Provide Preventative Health Solutions
Evaluate current biosecurity and hygiene programs and recommend practical improvements that reduce disease pressure, enhance animal welfare, and support responsible antimicrobial stewardship.
Champion Animal Welfare
Help customers improve animal health and welfare by implementing science-based hygiene protocols that prevent illness before it occurs.
Deliver the HyCare® Concept
Guide customers in implementing the MS Schippers HyCare® approach, integrating hygiene products, biosecurity measures, and management practices into comprehensive preventative health programs.
Support Producer Success
Work collaboratively with customers to identify opportunities that improve herd and flock performance, productivity, and profitability through better hygiene management.
Develop Strategic Accounts
Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing key accounts while introducing MS Schippers’ preventative health solutions to new leading producers across Ontario.
Collaborate with Distribution Partners
Work alongside distribution partners and the MS Schippers team to ensure customers receive outstanding technical support, training, and service.
Plan & Document
Maintain accurate customer records, document recommendations and follow-up activities within the CRM system, and contribute to achieving regional objectives.
Travel
Spend approximately four days each week visiting customers throughout Ontario, with one flexible day dedicated to planning, administration, and customer follow-up from your home office.
What we are looking for?
We’re looking for a veterinarian who is passionate about preventative medicine, animal welfare, and helping producers succeed.
Veterinary Expertise
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with experience or strong interest in swine and/or poultry production. Knowledge of biosecurity, disease prevention, herd/flock health, and production management is highly valued.
Passion for Prevention
You believe that hygiene and biosecurity are critical components of animal health and are motivated to help producers prevent disease rather than simply respond to it.
Relationship Builder
You enjoy working directly with producers, building trust, and becoming a valued advisor who delivers practical solutions.
Commercial Awareness
You understand that improving animal health also supports producer performance and business success, and you are comfortable identifying opportunities where MS Schippers solutions can add value.
Communication Skills
You communicate confidently with producers, veterinarians, farm managers, and industry partners, translating technical information into practical recommendations.
Independent & Entrepreneurial
You enjoy managing your own territory, take initiative, and thrive in an autonomous role focused on creating long-term customer success.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) eligible to practice in Ontario (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Experience or interest in swine and/or poultry production
- Excellent English communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Ontario
