Lead Schippers’ growth in China – Become General Manager of Schippers China
As General Manager of Schippers China, you take full ownership of building, leading, and growing our operations in China. You will be responsible for the P&L of the Schippers China Sales JV and work closely with the Schippers China Production JV (led by our Chinese partner). You are the connector between Dutch and Chinese shareholders: building trust, aligning interests, and turning strategy into results.
This is a role for a decisive leader with entrepreneurship in their DNA, someone who thrives in a cross-cultural environment and knows how to get things done in China.
What are you going to do?
Leadership & Strategy
- Full operational leadership of the Schippers China Sales JV.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with the Production JV, including KPI monitoring and regular alignment meetings.
- Develop and execute a China business plan covering sales growth, market penetration, and profitability.
- Implement Schippers’ global strategy locally, with a strong focus on hygiene solutions (MS Gold & HyCare).
- Build and manage a sales and technical team focused on large integrators (poultry & swine) and distribution partners.
- Develop annual sales budgets and targets.
- Represent Schippers China at exhibitions, conferences, and with key customers.
- Monitor quality, cost, and supply timelines in collaboration with the Production JV.
- Ensure full compliance with Chinese regulations (business licenses, reporting).
- Protect intellectual property and maintain confidentiality.
- Sales growth (turnover & margin) for hygiene products.
- Market share development among integrators and distributors.
- Profitability of the Schippers China Sales JV.
- Alignment and performance of the Production JV.
- Team development: recruitment, training, and retention.

What we are looking for?
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or Agribusiness.
- 10+ years of experience in animal health, feed additives, or biosecurity solutions.
- Strong commercial track record in China (business development, negotiation, team leadership).
- Fluent in Mandarin and English.
- Experience managing joint ventures or cross-cultural partnerships is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within China (approx. 40–50%).
- Strong leader with clear, confident decision-making.
- Excellent communicator and natural relationship builder.
- Comfortable navigating between Dutch HQ culture and Chinese business partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you see opportunities where others see obstacles.
