Can you describe what it's like to work for The Schippers Group?
It feels like working for a family business. I do not feel like a number here. All the work you do, you will get recognized for it.
What does your working day look like?
Well first of all, Every day can be completely different, which is also the reason I like my work.
I start around 8 AM and first get some nice coffee to start this workday.
My colleagues and I will have some small talk and then start working. After checking the status of some orders and follow up on projects, I have a weekly meeting with the Middle East.
We discuss what is going to happen this coming week. What challenges we have to face and what projects we have finished.
At 12.30 PM we will go to the office cafeteria and have some soup of the day and some nice sandwiches.
After an afternoon of working through emails, making some phone calls and working on proces adjustment, I call it a day and go home.
At Export it varies per week who will be in the office, or who is traveling, so some weeks there will be less people in the office and some week we have a 'full house'. Which is fun and diverse.Â
What are your ambitions?
I've been working with The Schippers Group for 5 years now. I keep learning new things everyday.
In the future I see myself as a customer manager, account manager.
Do you have any tips for job seekers?
Go with your gut.
I believe an ideal workplace consists of 50% work atmosphere and 50% actual work activities.
